College and Career

Welcome Bacccckkkk to another great year everyone. To make things even more special this is our 25th Anniversary!

 

Thank you for stopping by our page and checking out our POWERFUL department of two. During the school year, Monday - Friday, in the College and Career office is where you can find us. Our names is Patricia Mosley, Director of College and Career and Jordan Wilson, College and Career Specialist. This is our third year in the department and it's been a blessing to have special relationships with each and every student. 

 

Within the College and Career Department we help students develop concrete plans for their futures after graduation, whether they are heading into the workforce or continuing their education at a college or trade school. Activities include an annual road trip to HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) throughout a particular region. This trip allows students to visit colleges that they may have only read about in pamphlets and brochures, and several times has created chances for students to apply, in person, to the college of their choice, and receive an offer of acceptance on the spot.

 

We try our best to create a great mixture of college credit programs, field experiences and special certifications that is only earned by going through the class. For example, some of our students last year took advantage of an 8 week Epoxy Flooring certification. They were able to learn the art of Epoxying floors from the start to finish and receive their certification. Their final project was to remodel the High School Senior Lounge and leave their mark for the next students. We offer numerous equal opportunities to pursue after high school ranging from anywhere between college, trade and workforce.
